Skin cancer check
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world. 2 in 3 Australians will develop skin cancer before the age of 70.
Melanoma is the most serious type and although its incidence increases with age, it is one of the most common cancers in young adults.
Checking your own skin regularly for new or changing spots is recommended. A skin check by a doctor can diagnose most skin cancers (sometimes a biopsy or dermatologist referral is required). Don’t sit on spots you are worried about, book in a skin check.

Early detection of syphilis
Syphilis cases have been steadily rising over the last few years. Infection with syphilis occurs in stages - primary, secondary, latent and tertiary. Symptoms may include genital ulcer, rash, fatigue, enlarged lymph nodes can be very mild and unnoticed. Some people diagnosed with syphilis report no symptoms. Anyone at risk should be tested to prevent serious complications. Early detection and treatment is important.
Individuals for whom testing is most important are men who have sex with men, individuals with multiple sexual partners, pregnant women, anyone with a history of STI and people living with HIV.
Dr Kieran offers onsite syphilis testing and treatment.
